Peter Sachs Collopy

Peter Sachs Collopy is a historian and archivist of science, technology, and media. He is the University Archivist at Caltech, and an editor of the History of Anthropology Newsletter. Peter’s research brings together the histories of science, technology, media, and the social movements that have made use of them, particularly in the context of the Cold War. He is currently writing about the relationship between video therapy and video art in the 1960s, about the Black Panthers' uses of video, and about Scanimate, an analog computer used for animation for film and television in the 1970s—and continues to experiment with applying digital effects to some wobbulator footage he shot at Signal Culture last summer.
